Rich Oliphant is Founder and
President of Oliphant Productions, Inc. an award winning television
Production Company that has created television programming since 1984. His body of work is very broad and includes
broadcast entertainment, documentary, commercial, promotional, sports and
educational programming. He has
directed live satellite uplink segments for programs such as: The News Hour
With Jim Leherer, ABC's Nightline, and C-SPAN. Mr. Oliphant has produced,
written and directed hundreds of hours of film-style single camera,
multi-camera and live on-air television productions. Currently
in production and airing and on Time Warner Cable is a golf destination
series created by Mr. Oliphant. The series is titled: “Golf’s Ultimate Signature Holes.” It features PGA golf
professionals and golf course designers who tour the most interesting holes
in golf. A
sampling of projects include: a PBS pledge special titled, “JUDY FRANK AND
DEAN” co-produced with KOCE Desert Cities/Raven Productions, featuring a
digitally re-mastered and colorized version of the 1962 performance with a
historical perspective by Mickey Rooney.
A CPR training program for nurses and physicians titled,
"GUIDELINES FOR NEONATAL RESUSCITATION," produced for The American
Academy of Pediatrics and co‑sponsored by the
American Heart Association. A three-part series produced for the Department
of Veterans Affairs, Washington, D.C. Central Office, titled: "OUTCOMES
IMPROVEMENT." A seven-part series
titled "CONTINUING EDUCATION IN HEALTH CARE" produced for the
Alliance for Continuing Medical Education. The series was written, produced
and directed by Mr. Oliphant. A 1-hour PBS documentary about aging in America,
hosted by Keith Morrison titled, "THE BEST IS YET TO BE;" produced
for the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences and Oregon Public Broadcasting
(OPB). Mr.
Oliphant has unique expertise in the direction and production of educational
and documentary style programming in the form of accredited continuing
medical education (CME) for physicians and health professionals. He has written, produced and directed
sponsored programming for many pharmaceutical companies and specialty
societies. He served as Chairman of
the Alliance for CME, Education Subcommittee on New Technology and Media from
1992 to 1998. He also served as Senior
Producer for a wide variety of medical education programs produced for the
Annenberg Center for Health Sciences.
One of these series consisted of 110x30 live-to-tape multi-camera
programs covering a wide range of medical topics. Other
work in long-form infomercials includes: “THE PHENOMENON,” hosted by Baseball
Hall of Famer, Jim Palmer; “ONLINE SUPPLIER,” hosted by Bob Eubanks; “IMPROVE
YOUR CREDIT SCORES” hosted by Robert Wagner; “ARTHROPLEX” hosted by Terry
Murphy of E.T. and “THE AMAZING ASSIST,” hosted by famed golf professional
Bill Harmon. Mr. Oliphant directed a
series of infomercial programs titled: “DIRECT TALK,” featuring Jim Caldwell,
Peter Tomarkin and Mindy McCourtney, for Guthy-Renker Corp. and Dave Petitto
Direct. For Home Shopping Network Direct, Mr. Oliphant directed, “THE ANSWER
IS IN YOUR BLOODTYPE” and “PLANT MAGIC” hosted by Linda Brooks and Mindy
McCourtney. For Thane Marketing
International, Inc., Mr. Oliphant has served as Director of Photography (DP)
on hits such as: “BIO SLIM,” “ORBITREK,” “YOUTH COCKTAIL” and many others. |
